Money

Another day another financial crisis! has the free market capitalist system finally falling in on itself? I have been sat with people worried about there savings, etc with the merger of Lloydstsb and HBOS. A scary morning they said as they woke up yesterday to the news. Myself? I didn't even realise that HBOS was the Halifax, so yes now I listened that's who my mortgage is with. Ah well all it means to me is that I now owe one bank instead of two. How delightfully free and easy it can be at the other end of the wonderful class scale of Britain's class system sometimes. Only for a short while though, because it will be the working people who will struggle and lose their jobs.

Last year when Northern Rock went a bit wibbly wobbly I commented that the Government was prepared to bale out people with savings of over £20,000 or whatever the figure was, a cast iron guarantee that those people would not lose their money from the elected power of the land, brilliant well done for looking after the population.

Farepak another financial institution in which people with low incomes could save over a year for Christmas went bust taking with it thousands of peoples Christmas money and the hope of presents for their children. Help from the Government? fuck all. This Government has looked after business interests since day one and screwed the traditional working people who created and voted for the Labour party. Will happily spend billions baling out banks who gamble with money they don't have but when it comes to ordinary people they will not lift a finger.
