Hung

Wow. What a week it's been. I have to admit that this is the most interested I have been in a General Election since I was entitled to vote. I make no secret of my alliances and the fact I've been actively campaigning in High Peak for the Greens has been an experience. I attended my first election count last week and it was a genuine event. We had Tory winner, and sour grapes from the Labour party. We got 2% which although not fantastic was a great start for a new local party. The tactical voting and Cleggmania which has supposedly gripped the nation in the run up to the election never really materialised. The country wanting change never really happened and basically two thirds of the country voted for the two old parties. They didn't really want change, they just mostly want cheaper petrol.

One fantastic result was the first Green MP in Caroline Lucas for Brighton Pavillion and I think we can all thank the good people of Brighton for showing how demanding change and then delivering it is done. I truly believe that one Green MP will make a huge difference.



HUNG PARLIAMENT!

If the scaremongering by the right wing press is to be believed we will be heading towards a Mad Max style breakdown of society by the end of the week if Cameron is not in power. With Sky News reporting that the public are losing patience with the negotiations and are demanding a decision. I'm not losing patience, are you? I am finding the wining and dining of Nick Clegg rather amusing, so far he has got the resignation of Gordon Brown, a promised referendum on the Alternative Vote, tax concessions for earners under £10K and some cabinet seats. All he is waiting for now is once a week with Samantha Cameron and use of the comfy swivel chair at meetings and it'll be a done deal.

Green Calx

I've been really busy the past week or so. Mainly due to an over active dog  that needs 4 hours exercise a day. So this is just a quick post to encourage those who weren't going to vote tomorrow to maybe think about voting Green. I sent my postal vote off the other day. If you look at their policies you'll find the only real electable left alternative. If you consider the Greens  a single issue party you should check out the website and have a look. Also there are two Green MEP's at the moment and Caroline Lucas MEP, leader of the Green Party, has been rated best British MEP on transparency, accountability, democracy and waste by campaign group Open Europe. Not a claim for a moat or a Duck house in sight.

I wanna be elected

So a poll by the Guardian has showed that over a quarter of voters will reject the main parties and vote for a minority party in the forthcoming European elections, somehow I think the results are a bit skewed. Only 1% admitted to be voting BNP, that statistic just doesn't make sense. Either they just polled 100 Guardian readers and in that case what is the BNP supporter doing reading the Guardian or, and I think this is more likely: The population surveyed are embarrassed about voting BNP and don't want anybody to know. Its as if they think voting for the BNP will have them cast in a bad light and their not really bad people are they? Oh wait, yes they are. They're a fascist party and you fucking well should be ashamed if your planning to vote for them and if I find out anyone I know has voted for them I shall fucking tell them that.

Also if being race hating fascists and general Nazi boot boys in suits doesn't turn you against them. Visit their website and be sure to read the comments, look at their spelling and grammar, it's fucking atrocious!
