I took L to the Manchester Academy last night to see the Terrorvision Anniversary tour, 15 years since the album - How to make friends and influence people. Probably doesn't mean a lot to most people but I loved this album in 1994, driving up and down to Portsmouth every weekend with this blasting out of my C reg Astra 1.3 L, it was fucking ace. Terrorvison are the band I've probably seen the most times live, I can't remember the exact number but its well into double figures if you include festival appearances. They are always good value, L has been to gigs before, I introduced her to the Flaming lips at the tender age of 7 and again two years later on the mystics tour. This was however her first time at an all standing venue with fucking loud rock music, my ears are still ringing, I took her as close to the front as I could allow without my parental instincts of pushing everyone away kicked in. I did have to reposition her a few times to avoid some drunken flailing of some over enthusiastic bouncing and I don't think she was o embarrassed at my Dad dancing behind her.
They were offering a CD of the recorded live show 10 minutes after the last song was played as part of a three disc box set for £20. Great value I though, I didn't get it though, they are great live but when you listen back to a recording you realise Tony the singer misses out full lines of the songs because he is running around and bouncing around too much. He still does it now and he's past 40, my vote for best rock front man ever.
And this is from last night, its a bit rough but you egt the idea.
